Scotland’s first year of Homecoming in 2009 also celebrated the 250th anniversary of the birth of national poet, Robert Burns. In its own inimitable style, the 60th Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo paid its own tribute to The Bard with songs such as ‘Ae Fond Kiss’, ‘A Man’s a Man’ and of course ‘Auld Lang Syne’ performed by the eclectic cast of the show.
Musical highlights include vibrant Tongan Royal Corps of Musicians, the Swiss Army Central Band playing a mix of contemporary pop hits and traditional music, and the phenomenal Top Secret Drum Corps whose renown has only escalated since their first performance at the Tattoo in 2003.
