The 63rd edition Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo held at the Castle esplanade combined the classic traditions of the Tattoo with contemporary music and dance. The Massed Pipes & Drums include the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, The Black Watch and The Cape Town Highlanders, playing songs that celebrate the farming tradition; ‘The Crofter’, ‘The Wind the Shakes the Barley’ and ‘Harvest Home’.

From around the world, the 2012 show features the Norweigan King’s Guard Band & Drill Team, the US Naval Forces Europe Band weighing in with some all-American film and TV themes and the thrilling Top Secret Drum Corps from Switzerland.
